1961-1989

During the Cold War al lot of events had happen some of them more shocking than others but all of them had  tragic results. After WWII Germany was divided into four zone east and west but by that time those 4 zones were occupied by the major allies during the war (U.S.A, Great Britain & France) who occupied West Berlin with East Berlin occupied by Soviet Union  since that back then was a  conflict between  two types of government this was the event that give the rise of the Berlin Wall  also called ( Berliner Maurer) this was not just a wall this wall had a symbolic division between West Berlin and East Berlin. Back then was the fight between two types of governments the West and East zone had different ideas. This was a symbolic boundary between Democracy & Communism. This was two different ideas that West and East Berlin had. The allies in West Berlin were against Communism they were more in favor  Democracy in which consist the participation of citizen  in politics & civil life in the other hand Soviet Union was disagree with this they believed more  in Communism  in which consist in that government owns most property and controls most labor and trade . Basically this was one of the reason of the construction of the wall the differences  between two types of governments.  During this period was created a policy called containment  which was created  to prevent the further use of communism. Major objectives of the United States was to stop Soviet Union using this kind of government since that they were afraid Soviet union spread communism to West Berlin.

West Berlin (United States, Great Britain, France) which was more attractive place to live there were better job opportunities , it was the opportunity  to have better live than the East that was why most of the people in the East use to move to the West, but Stalin who was the leader of USSR was disagree that people had to move from the East to the West so in that time he decided to stopthat and created a blockade by cutting all road , rail and water link between West Berlin. In the West people were suffering of starvation  Staling tougth that by doing this the allies would give up  but this was not the case U.S.A, France, Britain didn’t give up. Ameriacn and British airplane called airlift  began to fly supplies  over the Soviet sector and into West Berlin
